Inservice Day 2

Today was good - albeit slightly overwhelming! The morning half of the day was SLP specialized training. It got me really excited about getting to work with the kids, but MAN there sure is a lot to know/remember. If you've ever heard that there is a lot of paperwork in the schools... you heard right! Holy moly! Hopefully I'll be able to get through it with the help of my SLP survival kit:


Ha - I wish that was a cure-all... but it was definitely a nice gesture to remind us that we have TONS of support all throughout the district!

Around lunch time they loaded us up on school buses (ahhh, high school flashback!) and took us to Willow Bend mall where they had a HUGE set-up for all the new teachers/SLPs in Plano ISD! There sure were a lot of us (plus several tables upstairs - where we were):


A little awkward in the middle of the mall though, not gonna lie.

We were the "Bailey Banks & Biddle" table so we each got a little somethin' somethin'...


Yeah right - I wish! (You better believe that we checked inside those bags to make sure they were indeed just decoration! Hey you never know when something might accidentally fall into a bag!) We did, however, get a free lunch and a bag full of "swag":



Enough pens??

Tomorrow is curriculum training! Already ready for the weekend - I need to learn how to get more sleep if there's any hope of surviving this job! (And we don't even have kids yet!)
